Why the paper clip?
Apart from that's what the logo designer came up with, the paper clip has an interesting history and symbolic importance.
Like most good inventions paper clips solved a longstanding problem in a simple, timeless way. People had fastened papers together from the 13th century onwards. Ribbons (with or without wax) were the solution for six hundred years. Even today, many lawyers still prefer ribbons around their documents.
A Norwegian, Johan Vaaler, invented the first paper clip in 1899. Around the same time, an English company, Gem Manufacturing Ltd, designed the double oval shaped clip still in use today.
Paper clips are much more than neatly shaped wire.
During World War II, Norwegians wore paperclips as a protest against the Nazi occupation and to symbolize the original function of a paper clip in binding together. There is even a movie called, "Six Million Paper Clips," to commemorate the Holocaust.
What does all this mean?
Nothing too solemn. But we do our best to help you work out the real ROI of your technology, then, communicate its value as clearly and compellingly as possible.
