Typically used in private equity after a deal is closed. A 100-day plan specifies the operating improvements required to support the original thesis for investing in a company. It has three components:
- Lays out the steps to achieve the performance improvement goals -- detailed down to the level of what must be done each day (hence the name);
- Defines and sets metrics, which indicate progress on making the performance improvements;
- Creates a sense of urgency. Write a series of consecutive 100-day plans to maintain momentum.
